How voting works for the MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 (“EMAs”)

“This year’s MTV Europe Music Awards gives the power to you, the viewers, to pick the winners of most of our awards. Votes can be cast either on the website, located at URL www.mtvema.com (the “Website”), the WAP site at m.mtvema.com (the “WAP Site”) or certain Habbo virtual world websites (check your local Habbo site to see if it running EMAs voting and if so what terms will apply). You can vote up to a maximum of one hundred (100) times per day on either the Website or the WAP Site. Entries exceeding this limit will not be accepted. Only votes cast by real people will be allowed! Any entries that we believe have been made via participation in a syndicate or via any form of machine assisted intervention enabling computer generated multiple entries, may be disqualified.”
“The nominees for the Best European Act will be selected through a system that is designed to be as fair as possible. It will make sure that there are no unfair advantages for bigger countries over smaller countries with smaller populations. Each of the twenty two (22) acts will be given points based on how many votes they have received in each country, so the act with the lowest votes in a specific country will get one (1) point and the act with the highest votes in that country will get twenty two (22) points. This process will be repeated in each of the twenty two (22) regions. The act with the most amount of points when each country’s points are added together will be the winner of the Best European Act.”
